Many fans were upset when cult favorite “Veronica Mars” was canceled back in 2007, and although there’s still talk that a “Mars” movie may happen, until then, fans of the show can relive the glory days when Rob Thomas’ new show, “Party Down,” debuts March 20 on Starz.
The show, which takes a comic look at what it’s like for struggling actors working in the catering industry, reunites many of the “Veronica Mars” castmembers with the show’s star, Kristen Bell, who makes a cameo in an episode set to air later in the season.
“It’s euphoric,” Bell told MTV News about working with the old gang, which she describes as an “amazing cast.” ” ‘Veronica Mars’ is such a special part of my life, and I don’t think I really realized it and maybe it didn’t resonate till later, but I miss these people so much.”

Kristen Bell talks about guest starring on an upcoming episode of the new Starz series Party Down.
“Veronica Mars” star Kristen Bell, most recently seen on TV in “Heroes,” is teaming up with her old boss again, at least briefly.
Partydown Rob Thomas, the creator of the CW’s late, lamented “Veronica Mars,” is one of the creators of “Party Down,” a pleasingly droll ensemble comedy that premieres on Starz March 20. The show is about a group of L.A. would-be writers and actors who work part-time as cater-waiters, and Bell will appear in the May 22 season finale of the show as the head of a rival catering firm.

Continuing their work on the upcoming romantic comedy “When in Rome,” Josh Duhamel and Kristen Bell were spotted filming re-shoots in New York City today (March 17).
The “Win a Date with Tad Hamilton” stud and his “Forgetting Sarah Marshall” costar looked to be having a great time working together. In one scene Kristen’s character shoots Josh’s character in the face with an asthma inhaler!

The 1988 Winona Ryder dark comedy Heathers is being developed as a stage musical. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Race to Witch Mountain director Andy Fickman, who got his start in theater, has been developing the production with his Reefer Madness collaborator Kevin Murphy, who’s writing the lyrics and book, and Tony-nominated Legally Blonde composer Larry O’Keefe. Earlier this week, Veronica Mars star Kristen Bell took part in a reading, playing the lead role. Whether or not she would take the role on stage is said to depend on her schedule. The musical is expected to be mounted as a regional production in 2010, then head to Broadway if successful.
